Workplace Education & Training
Our specialist training can build your capacity, or your team’s, to understand epilepsy risks, appropriate first-aid responses and how to better support people impacted by this complex condition.
Training is suitable for anyone who wants to build their epilepsy knowledge, improve outcomes and potentially save lives - from support workers, NDIS staff and allied health providers to educators, workplaces and community organisations.
Best Practice Epilepsy Training
Anyone can develop epilepsy, and it can happen at any time and any age. Understanding what a seizure can look like and how to respond is essential to helping keep people safe. It’s also how we show our allyship – our commitment to making this community an accepting and supportive space for people diagnosed with an unpredictable, stigmatised condition.
- Foundational insights about epilepsy, including seizure recognition and lifestyle impacts.
- Safety measures to reduce the risk of injury during seizures.
- Triggers and treatment, including potential side-effects.
- Seizure first aid and emergency situations.
- How to administer Midazolam (theory & practical).
- What to do after a seizure.
Knowing how to recognize a seizure and provide seizure first aid could save a life. Not only that, but people living with epilepsy experience better health outcomes when the people around them know how to recognise seizure activity and respond appropriately.
Our self-paced e-learning module is an excellent alternative to face-to-face training. Alternatively, if you would like to coordinate team training or training at your workplace, our educators can tailor an option to suit.
We have been an epilepsy training provider of choice in Queensland and northern New South Wales for more than 20 years. Our education and training programs are evidenced-based, best practice and delivered by experienced epilepsy educators.
