Assistive Technology (AT) Information
Under the Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living section of a participant’s NDIS plan, an experienced team member can provide Assistive Technology (AT) information and options relating to the person’s unique epilepsy-related needs, particularly where the epilepsy is complex. This assistive technology may include seizure monitoring devices and alert devices, trigger management aids – such as cooling aids and other relevant items. The information can also include the process of how to order; or further approvals that may be required.
Depending on the specific needs and circumstances, this consultation may be done in the participant’s home, Epilepsy Queensland office, or via phone or video conferencing such as Zoom or Teams.
As some suppliers for equipment may not be registered with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), you may need to consider this section of your plan being Self-managed or Plan Managed. Please discuss this with your NDIS Planner.
