Support For Teenagers with epilepsy - Epilepsy Queensland

Teenagers and Epilepsy

Epilepsy Queensland has a range of resources specifically tailored for teenagers.

Transitioning from childhood to adulthood can be a difficult time. During adolescence, there are biological changes that affect physical, mental and emotional development.

For those without a health issue, this transition can be challenging. For those with a new diagnosis of epilepsy, it can be an even more challenging time.

Epilepsy Queensland offer regional teen meet-ups in some locations- you can request to join our Facebook group to learn about upcoming opportunities.

YEAH – online space for young adults

YEAH – the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) online space for young adults under the age of 30 years to meet and chat with others – sees an increasing membership. You can join YEAH on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ YEAHepilepsy/ and there is a closed page for member discussions www.facebook.com/group/YEAHepilepsy.

The below fact sheets have been written specifically for those transitioning with a new diagnosis of epilepsy.
