Our Constitution

The Constitution of Epilepsy Queensland Inc is our key governance document that provides the reason for our existence and guides the Board and the organisation in the development of strategy and gives the necessary legal status and powers to execute on that strategy.

Importantly it provides for categories of membership that support both our governance and our representative objects.

Our Commitment to Quality

We are committed to the highest possible standards of customer experience and outcomes for our community delivered through our services.  Our Quality Management System (QMS) supports and empowers this commitment throughout the organisation and provides for an effective mechanism to monitor our overall performance and achievement of our Vision & Impact.

Quality Management System (QMS)

Epilepsy Queensland has a QMS that is fit-for-purpose and is designed to empower our work and meet the requirements for certification under the Human Services Quality Standards and the National Disability Insurance Scheme Practice Standards.

Our QMS is a framework for customer-focused quality management based on the principles for leadership, the workforce, processes, improvement, operational consistency, evidence-based decision and stakeholder relationship.

It includes a robust framework of policies, procedures and processes to support our activities and mechanisms for regular internal monitoring of the effectiveness of the systems to empower quality outcomes for our customers.

In meeting the requirements of the Human Services Quality Standards and the NDIS Practice Standards our QMS enables us to achieve and maintain a high level of quality, flexibility and relevant service delivery to our customers.

We design a fit-for-purpose QMS to empower the:

  • use of the QMS as a tool in achieving best practice outcomes across the organisation
  • continuous improvement and customer outcomes as a result of accessing our services
  • compliance with relevant Commonwealth and State Legislative, Regulatory and Statutory requirements
  • culture of Continuous Quality Improvement to enhance the organisation’s overall performance and achieve organisational goals
  • staff and stakeholders with an efficient improvement process that is user friendly, responsive and provides the opportunity to make changes.

Our Auditor

We value our robust relationship with HDAA Australia Pty Ltd.  We work collaboratively with HDAA to ensure a system of robust external monitoring of the effectiveness of our system on the outcomes of our customers.

HDAA is accredited by the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ), the International Society for Quality in health care (ISQua); the Department of Health (DoH) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to provide assessment services in the Health and Human Services Sector.
